Proof readers
The first book is on sale. The other three are finished and not yet published. Before each one goes on sale the proof goes to a small number of readers who will say honestly what they think, including the parts that do not work. Once a book is published we stop sending it: it is exclusive to Amazon from that day, and we keep that agreement rather than bending it.
Proof readers receive a free advance copy in exchange for an honest review. Honest means honest. A one-star review that explains itself is worth more to this project than a five-star one that does not, and we will never ask you for a positive one.

One review, when the book is on sale, saying what you actually thought. Not a good review. An honest one. If the book is boring in the middle, that is the single most useful thing anybody could tell us, and it is worth more than a five-star rating that does not say why.
We will never ask you to give a positive review, and we could not accept one that was conditional on anything. Reviews bought with anything at all are worthless, and on Amazon they are also against the rules.
Two emails, at most. One when a manuscript is ready to send. One when the book is on sale. Then nothing, unless you ask.
And one thing you cannot get anywhere else. Advance readers see the Atlas first: a digital preview of the spreads, while the plates are still being cleared and the arguments still being cut. The printed edition will be a numbered one, and this is the list it is offered to.
